Astronomical Unit (A.U)

It is evolved by radar astronomy and is more accurate than the light year unit. It represents the mean distance between the Sun and the Earth, calculated on the data supplied by radars. The A.U. distance has now become a key constant in determining distances in the solar system. A.6. is approximately 150 million (149.600.000) km. It may be said that light year is made up of about 60.000 A.Us.
